Parents Helping Parents and Edmond’s Best business referral club partnered to host a the second annual ‘Cinco de Mayo Fiesta’ and auction at the home of club members Nick Massey and wife Dr. Karen Mahlmeister, left. With them are J.C. Hopson and Jayme Hopson. Mahlmeister is a member of Edmond’s Best.

It’s a thrifty place with competitive prices, he said of the EARC Thrift Store at 92 E. 15th St. “If I find a movie that I want — I did the other day — ‘The Iron Giant,’ I bought it and it was for just $1,” he said while arranging shirts for sale.

Pat Nichols, founder of Parents Helping Parents, was honored recently by the Jim Thorpe Association for his outstanding work in the Edmond community. Nichols received the organization's first ever Character First business award at a quarterly luncheon held at the Oklahoma City Petroleum Club.

Sam Bass of Bass Agency spent a week building and sharing with the people of Mexico.  Going on a one week Mission trip to help people for New Covenant Methodist Church.  He supervised 45 high school and college people in this effort.  It was dusty, hot, and hard work,  but worth it.
